The Surgery Club, Pediatrics Club, and Women’s Health and Medical Society plan to host a guest speaker event featuring Dr. Tiffany Deihl, M.D., who is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine practicing at UPMC-Magee Womens Hospital, and Dr. Carolina Pinzon-Guzman, who is board certified in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery at UPMC Children’s Hospital. This event will occur on Zoom and be open to all LECOM-Erie students.  Dr. Deihl and Dr. Pinzon-Guzman will both speak about their prospective fields including their paths to becoming board-certified surgeons, training, and what their fields consist of (including common procedures and a typical day in the life). Students will have the opportunity to converse with the physicians and to ask questions about their fields. This event is an amazing opportunity for all students to learn about the path to both surgery and OBGYN from the perspective of two attending surgeons while also learning about the diversity of the fields.
